Blockchain game developer Mythical Games has officially launched the Arctic Blast season for their officially-licensed free to play mobile game, NFL Rivals, where you now have an opportunity to play and earn various exclusive NFTs while enjoying new content and a snowy holiday atmosphere.

What Is the NFL Rivals’ Arctic Blast?

Arctic Blast is a special new 4-week season that is packed with new features, events, and exclusive NFT rewards. It started on December 12th and will end on January 9th at 7 AM PT. During this time, the entire web3 game has been visually overhauled to give players a wintery look for this time of the year. Now only does this frosty makeover deliver menus covered in snow and freezing UI, but it also introduces a new frozen stadium with a fitting ice football play with it, all of which will make you feel like “you’ve stepped onto the Arctic tundra every time you log in.”

What New Features and Rewards Are Included in Arctic Blast?

Aside from the fitting graphical changes, this latest program introduces a new solo campaign called “Journey to the North Pole” that you can to play through to earn various rewards while enjoying a variety of challenges and “cold-weather lore”. If you want to earn Arctic-themed PFPs, exclusive players, coins, and gems, then you can do so through the new Battle Pass, which features 40 milestones to progress through. Unlock Battle Pass milestones by completing daily and seasonal tasks.

Next to the solo campaign and Battle Pass, the program also features Snowmen Collectibles. These are mysterious cards that have a certain melt date, and once that day comes, the card will reveal a special Snow Day player inspired by actual real-life games played in the snow. Snowman cards are said to feature unique card art as well as an icy in-game effect, with only 3 cards initially available to collect during an event. On Christmas Eve, you can expect to see more Snowman cards drop in as card packs for more opportunities to collect Snow Day players.

That said, this season introduces 2 new types of player cards: Snow Day Players and Freeze Players.

Snow Day players can only be found inside Snowmen and will provide you with additional bonuses for certain events while featuring art that is based on memorable moments from IRL snow games.

The main set of players for this season however are Freeze Players. These core program player cards feature players who are used to playing and living in places with cold weather. Freeze Players can be earned as event rewards but also possible to find in packs, with Legendary, Epic, and Rare players said to appear in packs that rotate every week, such as the $10 starter bundle. You can earn Chase players in events or acquire them through the Snowflake currency store. This program also introduces 2 Mythical players, one of which is a “game-changing kicker” making his debut for this season.

Throughout the season, you can look forward to participating in 3 special events: Snowmen Event, Snow Day Chase Event, and the Mythical Kicker Event.

The first special event started on the first weekend and gives you the opportunity to earn Snowmen based on your ranking. The Snow Day Chase Event gives Snow Day players “their time to shine” in Week 3, while the Mythical Kicker Event gives you the chance to earn “the program’s first-ever Mythical kicker” at the half-way point of this season.
