Noob Season 2 is officially live in free to play battle royale mobile game Blast Royale, giving players a new competitive period to play to earn $NOOB tokens and cosmetics in across various different events, including the special Lunar New Year event, which is already live for a limited time.
What's New in Blast Royale Noob Season 2?
The second season updates the web3-powered game to version 0.26, with the latest patch not only introducing the new season, but also new content and balancing changes alongside ongoing and upcoming events.
According to the patch notes, among the new content is the Blaster Shotgun, a new weapon that fires 3 pellets with a 10% longer range when compared to the Pump Shotgun. It deals 7 damage per pellet but comes with 30% less ammo than the Pump Shotgun. The new weapon potentially opens up room for new gameplay tactics, and this addition seems to have led to a balancing tweak to the Pump Shotgun, which now has reduced aim delay and deals 11 damage per pellet instead of 10.
Alongside the new shotgun is the addition of the Bloodthirst Mutator, which allows you to heal a third of the damage you deal with your weapon.
The latest season also brings with it new cosmetics, flags, special currencies, and 4 new playable characters for players to collect. You can grind to unlock new characters by progressing through the Blast Pass.
If you want to play to earn $NOOB tokens during this season, you can do so by taking part in daily High Stakes live events. The schedule for High Stakes events can be found in-game via the news section. You can also collect $NOOB tokens through the Blast Pass, as well as by playing in the weekly "Blastream" livestream events that take place every Thursday at 5 PM UTC. As you play, you can also compete in the February leaderboard, with the monthly leaderboard now having bigger prizes up for grabs for the highest-ranked players.
As January leaderboards have officially closed, this season's leaderboard is now up and running, giving players the entire February to compete for a total prize pool of 100k $NOOB tokens. Players will rank based on the number of wins achieved throughout this month, encouraging skill-based gameplay and active playtime to reward the most dedicated and engaged players.

What Is Blast Royale's Lunar New Year Special Event?
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, developer First Light Games is holding a special event in Blast Royale that allows players to earn limited-time special festive cosmetics from January 29th to February 13th.
Throughout this event, you can earn Lunar Coins from kills, crates, airdrops, and limited-time events. You can then use this currency at the Lunar Shop to redeem various exclusive cosmetics. While the event itself ends on February 13th, the shop will remain open until February 17th, so you'll have a couple more days to decide on which items you'd like to purchase after you've stacked up on loads of Lunar Coins. Among the new additions that you can grab during this event is a new playable character called Ting Ting, which you can check out in the official trailer below.
