Janus Interactive, the studio behind Storm Warfare, a free-to-play Web3 card game set in WW2, has announced the introduction of Dynamic NFT Commanders.
What Are Dynamic NFT Commanders?
The developers describe these leaders as the âworldâs firstâ set of dynamic blockchain avatars with âevolving facial features and appearance.â
There is a total of 10k 3D avatars representing Commanders as Dynamic NFTs, all of which are AI-generated. By owning one of these tradable army leaders, you will get to see them not only change visually but also by their attributes. These changes will depend on your achievements, faction, rank, class, and abilities.
Creating a Commander
Players can get their own free Commander by choosing a faction and type, with 5 factions to choose from alongside 5 Commander classes, each suited to a certain playstyle, thus posing certain advantages and disadvantages. After you finish setting up your free Commander, the announcement states that you will be given a Dynamic NFT version to give you complete ownership over your leader.
Over time, by progressing more and getting better at the game, your WW2 Commander will grow alongside you with rank and decorations. The more decorations there are and the higher your rank is, the stronger your Commander is. In this case, decorations are medals and badges that can vary in rarity and significance, so having rarer accolades is likely to make your NFT more valuable on the gameâs marketplace.
Commanders can be traded with other players on the marketplace but they can also be sold through auctions. By earning rewards through gameplay, you should be able to accrue enough to buy more Commanders, potentially collecting rare Commanders that may become more valuable in the future.
Storm Warfare launched in open beta earlier this month, followed shortly by a tournament with $40k worth of prizes, but this testing period has now ended. According to the gameâs official website, the game is set to go live in open beta again in January, but this time it is set to be up on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
