Blockchain gaming and entertainment ecosystem NXI has officially announced that they are migrating the NFTs of Everdawn: Champions from Ethereum over to the Base network. This migration will take place next week on Wednesday, December 11th, and it will not only give the web3 gaming assets a new home, but it will also actually improve the Champion NFTs in a couple of different ways, making them better than ever before.

What New Benefits Do Everdawn: Champions NFTs Get for Migrating to Base?

Holders of all Champion NFTs, both male and female variants, are having their warriors upgraded with 4 new benefits: overhauled artwork, new traits, core set expansion, and a myriad of useful ongoing perks.

The artwork for the NFTs is getting significantly revamped with a couple of updates transforming the appearance of all characters. This new art is said to showcase “intricate details and bold designs” to add “power and depth” to the unique traits of every Champion. In the above and below image you can see a glimpse of what the new visual style looks like, while the old art can currently still be seen on the Ethereum collections via OpenSea, both for men and women warriors. According to a tweet from November 13th, these upgrades are set to arrive in “the coming weeks,” so you can probably expect to see changes to your NFT on the day of migration, or shortly afterwards. If you happen to own any Champions with blank traits, then you can look forward to seeing those slots filled up with new traits. What kind of traits these will be remain a mystery at the moment, but these traits will make these assets different from the free Champions, thus adding more value to them.

The core set is getting expanded with almost 50 new cards, 8 of which will be airdropped to Champion holders. This means holders get 2 cards per faction, giving NFT owners more opportunities to come up with new tactics to use to their advantage. Not only are the cards per faction more evenly distributed with these new additions, but they also introduce various new card abilities, allowing you to add more variety to your deck.

Last but not least is the addition of numerous future perks for owners to enjoy. These include a free battle pass in the flagship turn-based tactical card game, but also the addition of bonus packs with new collections, discounts on purchases, and even more yet to be revealed.

If you have any WETH offers set up for these characters on Ethereum marketplaces, the developers urge all users to cancel these offers before the migration happens. This is to prevent your offer(s) from getting accepted on Ethereum, which will no longer be used for the ecosystem’s NFT collections after the switch is successfully made.

To celebrate the migration and thank the community for their patience during recent maintenance of the browser-based Questing Realms platform, the developers are hosting a giveaway in the ecosystem’s official Discord server, where they’re giving away 20 Genesis Card Packs to 20 random winners. Participation simply requires reacting with a green checkmark to the Discord announcement in the #community-updates section, and you have until Monday, December 9th, 23:59 ET to do so.

NXI Launches New Whitepaper and Reveals Impressive Stats

In other news related to this growing ecosystem, NXI has officially published a new whitepaper. The updated whitepaper consists of 3 key categories: NXI Play, NXI Build, and the $NXI Token. NXI Play is the in-house development studio, while NXI Build consists of publisher and crowdsourcing infrastructure services. The $NXI token is the core ecosystem token that will power all services and products part of this entertainment platform. Through this new documentation as well as in a recent post on Twitter, the web3 gaming studio also revealed some impressive stats spanning Questing Realms and the free to play strategic game, Everdawn: Champions. Across the entire ecosystem, the franchise has supposedly garnered 300,000 monthly active users in November 2024, with more than 10 million hours spent on enjoying these tactical blockchain gaming experiences. These significant numbers are likely in large part thanks to the $NXI Airdrop Campaign that launched in November, and while the ecosystem token was initially scheduled to go live this December, you can now look forward to the TGE taking place at some point in Q1 2025.
