Life Beyond is a vast, persistent online game set in the future. In it, players will create entire new societies. They have the power to decide its shape, economics and politics. It will provide the freedom to reflect real human aspects, both positive and negative.
Overview
Darewise Entertainment, the studio behind Life Beyond, aims a potentially limitless universe that spans across multiple media. The studio aims for Life Beyond's recognition to go beyond just being a great game to featuring comics, movies and other digital content for fans to enjoy.
Life Beyond takes players on a journey where kicks off after humans discover a long forgotten alien remains on Mars, and accidentally trigger a portal that leads to unheard of territories within our universe. Upon discovering an inhabitable planet in another solar system, humans land and send signals to Earth for the rest to come over while they set up the necessary colony equipment.
The task is far from easy, since the planet already features creatures that aren't as welcoming as we thought. The world of Dolos is our new home, and you, alongside everyone else, have a duty to clear all the impending dangers to our colonization and survival on this new planet.
Crafting
The abundance of exotic resources on the new world of Dolos pushes humanity to return back to primitive ways. Each resource you gather on your expeditions can be used to craft various weapons and equipment. This is particularly important since crafting is your only method of obtaining stronger gear so staying on the lookout for resources spread throughout the world is your primary means of survival.
In addition, the game rewards experimenting, whereby players can build what they want with the resources they have. This is possible because every element has a set of criteria which dictate whether or not it will work with others to become a new item with its own properties. Life Beyond gives players the opportunity to convert these crafted items into NFTs if they wish to trade it.
Expertise and In-Game Roles
Considering we are rebuilding humanity from scratch, all roles and jobs are needed to get the job done. What makes Life Beyond stand out from other MMORPGs is the opportunity to adopt any profession you want as long as you have the required equipment for it.
The list below showcases a number of different Expertise skills players can obtain:
- Archaeologist – able to find, excavate and translate writings and symbols of ancient tech.
- Fighter – greatly enhanced combat ability (there are subsets of Fighter Expertise).
- Transporter – enhanced ability to move objects, resources and elements from place to place.
- Mining Engineer – able to extract and collect underground resources.
- Musician – able to produce harmonic vibrations to trigger and use alien technology.
- Parkourist – able to scale otherwise impossible-to-reach areas and high places
How to Get Started
Anyone interested can directly download and play Life Beyond's open alpha. The main purpose of the current build is to give the community an early glimpse of how the game will play out. Meanwhile, there are several types of NFTs that guarantee your entrance to the early access phase alongside several perks, including pets, skins, and other redeemable NFTs, that are available for purchase on the marketplace.
