The adrenaline-pumping shooter OverTrip has just dropped its latest update with a Deathmatch Mode. This new game mode offers an endless, action-packed experience where the fight never stops. Whether you're playing for fun or betting your hard-earned $TRIP tokens, this update cements OverTrip as one of the most thrilling web3 shooters in the space.

What is OverTrip?

For those unfamiliar, OverTrip is a skill-based third-person shooter that merges high-stakes competitive gaming with blockchain tech. Built by GGXYZ Gaming Studio and backed by Gamestarter & GTM by Surgence, the game offers a fast-paced experience where players can wager tokens based on their performance.

Since its PC launch on December 10th via the Epic Games Store, OverTrip has continuously expanded its offerings. Now in its third season, the game allows players to bet real money on their skills using its native meme coin, $TRIP, or other coins like $COQ and $BRETT. 

OverTrip operates as a multi-chain project. The $TRIP token runs on Solana, while NFTs are minted on the Ethereum mainnet. There's also a planned expansion onto Ethereum Layer-2 network Soneium, which is developed by Sony & Startale. 

The game's token economy is built around wagering, skins, and airdrops, making it one of the most engaging blockchain-based shooters. 

Enter Deathmatch Mode: Chaos Never Ends

OverTrip's latest update is Deathmatch Mode—an endless, high-intensity mode designed for non-stop combat. Unlike the game's flagship Battle Royale Mode, where 50 players fight for the top spot, Deathmatch keeps the action going without downtime.

What Makes Deathmatch Special?

• No Eliminations: When you die, you respawn instantly. No waiting, no spectating—just pure, uninterrupted carnage.
• Earn Rewards Per Kill: Players can earn $TRIP tokens for every confirmed kill, adding a real incentive to the mayhem.
• Skill-Based Wagering: Those willing to take risks can bet on their performance and rake in serious rewards.
• QOL Improvements: The update also brings new skins, improved private lobbies, and other quality-of-life enhancements.

The Evolution of OverTrip's Economy

The $TRIP token was launched on Solana via Pump.fun on November 30th. The token serves multiple purposes in the game:

• Used for in-game skin purchases
• Distributed via airdrops to reward active players
• Core currency for the skill-based betting mode

Unlike many web3 games, $TRIP's tokenomics focus on rewarding players first:

• 8% of the total $TRIP supply was allocated for player rewards.
• 4.2% went to marketing efforts.
• 4% was reserved for exchange listings and liquidity.

Notably, the team did not take a formal token allocation, although they could have had the chance to buy before the public announcement. A transparency report on the token's distribution is now in the works.

Wager, Win, or Lose it All: Skill-Based Betting Expands

With its latest season, OverTrip has also doubled down on its "skill mode", where players can place bets on their performance:

• Wager $0.10, $0.50, or $0.99 on whether you finish in the top three.
• Win and earn tokens, or lose your bet entirely.
• SuperVerse token ($SUPER) is also being integrated for future betting options.

Given these mechanics, OverTrip has received an "Adults Only" (AO) rating from the ESRB due to real-money wagering, placing it in a unique category of blockchain-powered competitive shooters.

More Players, More Features

Beyond Deathmatch Mode and skill betting, OverTrip continues to push forward with new features:

• Private lobbies with customizable wagering rules
• New skins and cosmetic upgrades
• Expanded Battle Royale Mode—now supporting 50-player matches instead of the previous 20-player limit.

With that, players from past play to airdrop campaigns have already received $TRIP token rewards via Trippy Terminal, a player dashboard used to track all token rewards.
