Following the competition of the 2nd Pioneer Test on 29th November, MapleStory announced its next event, Gear Up NOW. The new event will run from 29th November (09:00) to 23rd December (00:00 UTC +0). This event is a part of MapleStory Universe: Gear Up period. In addition to the experiences players enjoyed in the 2nd Pioneer Test, the Gear Up NOW participants will also bring in special rewards for the participants. The official announcement also declares that all the rewards players earn in the event will be carried over to the official launch. 

Gear Up NOW Event Details

During the event period, which is December 2, 2024, 05:00 (UTC+0) ~ December 22, 2024, 23:59 (UTC+0), players must hunt monsters according to their level. While the official event begins on 29th November, the first couple of days are reserved for maintenance. 

A player can only hunt monsters within the +/- 20 of the character’s level. This means if a character is on level 20, they can hunt monsters between level 0 to level 40. Hunting takes a player to explore the MapleStory Universe as the players compete to complete their Pioneer Daily Check-In Box and collect all 10 letters. 

Collecting all the letters (M-A-P-L-E-S-T-O-R-Y) makes a player eligible to win rewards that follow during or after the completion of the event. While the MapleStory team recommends players participate in the limited-time event every day, a player can also carry over up to 20 missions to the next until the final day of the event. But missing a day means they cannot receive Daily Check-In rewards. 

Rewards Participants can Receive in the Gear Up NOW Event

The event comes with enticing rewards for the participants for daily check-ins and completing the missions. 

• Character LIVE Server World Leap: Those who win this reward can transfer one character to the LIVE game once it’s launched. To earn this reward, players must complete the Gear Up NOW Check-In event 15 times and claim the reward. However, there are some limitations to the reward players receive;
  • Only one character can be transferred, which has completed the 4th Job Advancement. 
  • To compete, players must also have completed the 2nd Pioneer test: MapleStory N Play Quests. For those who didn’t complete them, rest assured the test will remain open during the Gear Up NOW event. 
  • With the character transfer to the LIVE server, its stats, skills, level, job advancement status, and quest data will also be transferred. Moreover, the character will take ahead the equipped items, decorations, and pets along with any minted items. 
  • There are a few things that CANNOT be transferred, including enhancement data, item history, and non-mintable time-restricted equipment. Moreover, all unequipped items in the inventory and in-game digital resources and the character’s in-game name won’t go to the LIVE server. 
• Special Decorative Items as Rewards: In the Gear Up NOW period, players can also receive special decorative items as they progress through the game. There are two tiers of rewards available;
  • When a player completes five check-ins, 
  • When they complete 10 check-ins. 

For completing the five daily check-ins, they will receive a special decorative item set (Universe Stella Maris). For completing 10 daily check-in quests, they will receive an exchange coupon for the Universe Mushroom Pet, that too, with a magnet skill. Winners of this quest will receive the Universe Mushroom Pet in Fungible Tokens (FT) form, which can be traded on the marketplace after the launch. The pet will have a 100-day usage period. 

In addition to these two quests, more in-game events will be included. These are the Make Special Name and MSU Quest events, which will run throughout the Gear Up NOW event period.
