The FCHAIN ecosystem has announced the launch of the $RIFT token as the team gears up to launch a new gaming chain and platform focused on enhancing AI agents. Here are all the important details that have been revealed so far.

What Is the $RIFT Token?

The $RIFT token is the first token of the FCHAIN ecosystem, which will consist of a new gaming-focused layer 1 network and AI-based platform, all helping to provide improvements to AI agents to further propel the future of AI agents, web3 gaming, and entertainment. This token will be used to power the Rift Platform in particular, with other "module tokens" (more on this below) launching on the platform trading against the $RIFT token, just like how users trade tokens for $VIRTUAL on the Virtuals Protocol, for example. So, if you want to get access to trading various AI agent-related tokens on the upcoming new platform, you will then need this new token.

Backed by Avalanche, Solana, a16z, and more, this ecosystem token launched on January 29th on the Solana network, with DEXTools, Wasabi Protocol, and decentralized exchange Jupiter being the available ways to purchase this crypto at the time of writing. The contract address is included in the official announcement, and so is the official website, which has a link that takes you straight to DEXTools for convenience.

In terms of tokenomics, 54.8% is allocated to the community, 13% for liquidity, 10% to core contributors, and 22.2% for treasury and ecosystem growth. From the community allocation, 20% of it seems to be reserved as airdrops for holders of Faraway HV-MTL NFTs. Detailed distribution info can be found on the official tokenomics page.

The plan now is to get the token listed on HyperLiquid as well as to launch FCHAIN Nodes, which will allow users to get the upcoming $F token, designed to be the native gas token of the ecosystem's layer 1 chain.

What Is the Rift Platform?

The Rift Platform is an upcoming multi-chain platform that will allow anyone to launch "module tokens" on Solana and EVM chains. Module tokens are AI tokens designed to provide enhancements to existing AI agents. As such, the platform is described as being the "Shopify App Store for AI Agents" where you can buy and sell AI module tokens that could "supercharge" AI agents in a variety of different ways, giving them new skills that make them smarter than ever before. So, if you want your AI agent to do more than just post on Twitter/X, then a Rift-based module token could give the agent a new skill to improve it.

This makes the Rift Platform a potentially good addition to agent launchpads such as Virtuals and Holoworld, as existing AI agents can be brought into the Rift Platform and given new skills "with minimal time and effort required." Basically, users will be able to import their agents, pick the modules they want as if they're Shopify Plugins, "and activate these modules with a few clicks."

As Faraway is the parent company of FCHAIN, The first set of modules are made by the Faraway Platform, which is home to well-known web3 games such as Dookey Dash: Unclogged, Shatterline, Legends of the Mara, and more. In the future, developers can look forward to submitting their own modules as tradable tokens. Not only will creators be able to list module tokens for anyone to trade using $RIFT, but it will also be possible to further monetize these modules by charging a monthly fee to each agent that uses them. Your agent will need to have enough funds in its embedded treasury wallet in order to automatically pay a module's monthly fee. While the monthly fee is always denominated in USD, Module developers will choose whether to receive payments in USDC or in the module's native token.
