Indie game company Hello Monster has officially announced that they are bringing their debut web3 game Wonder Wars over to the Ronin network.

Why Is Wonder Wars Moving to Ronin?

Details on why the studio chose this gaming chain to continue building their first game and how it benefits its community do not seem to have been revealed. The official announcement thread on X only mentions that after the game successfully managed to accrue more than 90k downloads, it is now "ready to go to the next level."

Previously, Hello Monster released The Originals NFT collection on Ethereum in October 2024, so a move to a gaming-focused EVM blockchain that is more accessible to a wider gaming audience does make sense if they want the playerbase to be able to easily dive into any of the game's web3 features.

This move also means that the company's upcoming $H3LLO token will initially launch on Ronin, and that eligible players will thus likely be airdropped the cryptocurrency on this network.

Play to Airdrop Campaign in Wonder Wars Is Starting Mid-February

Speaking of airdrops, after recently announcing that their first play to airdrop campaign is coming this February, the new chain announcement thread now also specifies that the P2A campaign is starting mid-February 2025.

The P2A campaign consists of 2 main events where the top 10k players at the end of both events will be airdropped an unspecified number of $H3LLO tokens. Both events are set to last 7 days, so once the first one is over, the second one should quickly go live at some point in early March.

While this campaign will be free for anyone to jump into, there will also be multipliers to increase the number of points collected throughout both airdrop events. These multipliers will be available for The Originals NFT holders, for partner communities and creators, as well as for those who manage to gain a key from the Key Drop Event. The Key Drop event will take place very soon before the airdrop campaign starts, and those who manage to get this special key will unlock an exclusive multiplier. You will need to rank in the top 1000 to get the in-game item, and details on how players will climb the leaderboard do not seem to be available at the time of writing.

According to a Discord message by game producer Joyu, the TGE for the $H3LLO token is planned to take place in late Q1.

What Is Wonder Wars?

Wonder Wars is a free to play card-based mobile game in which players create decks of varied characters to use in lane-based 3D battles across PvE and competitive PvP modes. The web3 game soft launched in August 2023 and continues to be in development by gaming studio Hello Monster, whose founding team consists of Alvaro845, the biggest Supercell content creator.

Players build their decks by choosing their desired hero and 6 troops. Choosing the right hero is important to building the rest of your team, as this character has an influence over your playstyle. Once you pick a hero that fits your playstyle, you can then build the rest of your deck properly by picking troops that complement the hero's abilities, as troops also have different skills that in unison could be dangerous to fight against.

Each battle consists of multiple rounds in which you can place troops on 3 different lanes. You have 15 seconds to make your choice before the round starts, after which the round will initiate up to 3 turns, one per each lane, before giving you the option to place troops again for the next round. The opponent's hero is the target in every battle; defeat the hero and it's game over. If there is an empty lane, the hero can actually drop into the battle and attack before going back to their spot. You can even swap troops around, so if you'd like to replace your troop in a lane with another one waiting in deck, you have the option to do that before the next round starts.
