Game overview

STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle program that includes Game-Fi and Social-Fi elements.Users can profit by walking, jogging, or running outside while wearing NFTs in the form of Sneakers. STEPN intends to move millions of people toward a healthier lifestyle, battle climate change, and link the public to Web 3.0. all while relying on its Social-Fi feature to develop a long-lasting platform which promotes user-generated Web 3.0 content.

Playing instruction

To start, players should buy a sneaker NFT, and every NFT is distinct with different attributes. In classical Solo Mode, players can make profits mainly in three ways. Firstly, Move To Earn, and the move to earn efficiency depends on NFTs’ attributes, which is decided on shoes’ levels and the rarity. Secondly, opening mysterious boxes, which would be obtained randomly in moving, which may offer players distinct tokens. Thirdly, mint shoeboxes and sell them in the marketplaces.

Many factors would affect players’ income, thus, to increase profits, users should design their NFTs’ portfolio with strategies, plan carefully how to mint shoeboxes and when to level up.

In the future, Stepn will start Marathon Mode, which contains more social-fi elements, allowing users to participate in marathons, and this mode is still in process. And the lending market will be available later, lowering the barrier for new players.

In-Game Economy

STEPN functions on a dual-currency model, with the Green Satoshi Token (GST) serving as the in-game token and the Green Metaverse Token (GMT) serving as the governance token. GST has unlimited supply, mostly earn and burn in game at the same time. GMT has a total supply of 6.000.000.000. of which 30% will be granted to users and 30% will be allocated to community events’ hosting.

Compared with other GameFi, Stepn‘s tokens have more burning scenarios, while the daily earnings are limited, leading to the total circulating amount of GST and GMT decreasing in a period of time. Thus, there is no need to worry about a high inflation rate, which is a common problem with other popular gamefi projects.

As for the transaction fees revenue, 2% will be utilised for team operations, 5% will be returned to STEPN ecology. The rest will be gathered and then allocated to GMT stakeholders according to certain rules. Additionally, users can stake GMT to earn community voting privileges with varying weights, encouraging more players to contribute to the community.

And according to the distribution plan, the team will unlock their tokens gradually after 2023.
