Game Lore

In Illuvium: Overworld, players crash land on a mysterious planet. The world is full of hidden secrets, valuable resources, and wild creatures known as Illuvials. These creatures are central to your survival and progression in the game. Inspired by endangered species, Illuvials have unique abilities, appearances, and evolutionary stages. The overarching mission of the player is to explore this unknown world, collect Illuvials, and complete challenging missions while uncovering the mysteries of the planet.

Gameplay and Features

Illuvium: Overworld is all about exploration and discovery as you traverse vast alien landscapes to capture creatures known as Illuvials. Rather than focusing solely on combat, the game centers around resource gathering, crafting, and strategically preparing your team for future encounters. Your goal is to build a powerful collection of Illuvials, upgrade gear, and navigate different regions, with every decision impacting your success in this immersive, open-world adventure.

Players begin their journey in Sanctum Mesa, a central hub where they can craft gear, check leaderboards, and prepare for exploration. From here, players travel to various regions via Obelisks, teleportation devices used to access different areas on the map. Each region offers distinct landscapes and resources.

In your exploration, you'll gather materials like shards, ore, and consumables, necessary for capturing Illuvials and crafting essential items. Using your drone companion, you can track down rare resources and improve your efficiency in harvesting.

Illuvials

Illuvials are the creatures players can capture and battle with. They come in different Tiers and Stages, indicating their rarity and power. The capture process involves winning battles and using Cured Shards to store them. Illuvials also have Affinity and Class distinctions, such as Fire, Water, Air, and roles like Fighter or Rogue. You can fuse Illuvials to evolve them into more powerful forms, requiring three Illuvials of the same stage to create one of the next stage.

Battles and Fusion

After capturing Illuvials, players can deploy them in battle. As Illuvials gain experience, they become stronger, unlocking new abilities. The fusion system allows players to combine three Illuvials to create more powerful versions of them, enhancing your battle strategy.

Crafting and Upgrades

The Forge in Sanctum Mesa is where you'll craft items such as weapons, armor, and shards. Upgrading your equipment is crucial for progressing through tougher regions. Players can also craft Teleport Beacons and Drone Upgrades to improve their exploration efficiency and battle tactics.
