WEMIX PLAY

WEMIX PLAY was incubated in 2019 as the blockchain arm of Wemade, a publicly listed game developer in Korea (KOSDAQ: 112040) founded in 2000. Web3 gaming is now the primary focus of the company, and to this end, Wemade raised USD 46M from Microsoft and leading financial investors in Korea in November 2022 to further expand global reach. This is the first and only time Microsoft has directly invested into a GameFi-related project.

Wemade is best known for developing the MIR series (傳奇), which was especially popular in China. Two games from the MIR series have implemented blockchain technology and are available as Web3 games on the WEMIX PLAY platform, MIR4 and MIR M.

The WEMIX PLAY platform currently offers 22 games. All of these games are available on the Android and iOS App Stores across 170+ countries, excluding Korea and China where Web3 gaming is currently prohibited. In addition to MIR4 and MIR M, the platform hosts other MMORPGs and several arcade/casual games, such as Every Farm. Each of the games are free-to-play, with no initial NFT or token investments required. Some of the games have been developed directly by Wemade, and others are developed by third-party developers.

The in-game economies of the 22 games on the WEMIX platform are all interconnected via the WEMIX coin, which acts as the gold standard for this integrated mega-economy. The guiding vision of WEMIX PLAY is to apply blockchain technology to continue building up the integrated mega-economy of games under a unified standard, something not possible before Web3 innovations.
