The game is set in the 2300s, following a catastrophic war between two powerful factions: the Alliance and the Confederation. As the Earth became increasingly uninhabitable due to extreme weather and nuclear conflict, the Alliance developed an AI named FER to protect humanity. However, after FER was reprogrammed to win the war, it created the Angels—powerful humanoid robots.

When the Confederation launched a nuclear assault, the Angels responded by flooding the planet, leaving only the peaks of the Himalayas as habitable land. Now, survivors live on these isolated islands, ruled by the Angels, who have taken control and subjected humanity to various experiments. The game's narrative revolves around this struggle for survival in a world forever altered by conflict and AI intervention.
